Ms.Y

Lauren Yurkovich is a passionate and proud second generation darkroom photography teacher.  As a credentialed educator she has been training and mentoring k-12 students as well as adults for over 15 years.  While the majority of Ms.Y's career has been spent in art and photography, she also holds teaching credentials in mathematics, general science, and chemistry.  Beyond her work as a high school teacher, she runs professional development for teachers, school districts, and artists as well as offers visual arts workshops to the community.

Ms.Y is a classically trained artist with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Illustration from California College of the Arts.  As an artist she has had her artwork showcased in over 20 group and solo exhibitions across the world.  As a fine artist and illustrator her work includes but is not limited to murals, posters, books, billboards, and logos.  Her international upbringing lends a unique perspective to her work that makes it accessible to a wide range of audiences.  Lauren’s goal as an artist is to expand her work within community art projects and continue to grow her illustration and fine artwork exhibitions and clientele while remaining an active advocate and participant in visual arts education.
